The 2015 Les Trois Croix is gorgeous. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, mint, cloves and licorice build as this racy, voluptuous Fronsac shows off its soft curves and enveloping personality. All the elements simply fall into place in this delicious, alluring wine from Patrick Léon. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Tasted two times.
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Les Trois Croix is scented of cherry compote, warm black plums and cassis with hints of garrigue, bay leaves and cloves. Medium to full-bodied with plenty of poise and depth, it has lovely youthful fruit and approachability with a long, refreshing finish.
Very sweet nose. Perfumed and sinewy but without perfect focus. Elements here rather than a whole. The finish is a tad rustic. (JR)
