Tasting notes
A highly promising wine, the 2015 Le Plus de la Fleur de Boüard (Merlot) is just as impressive today as it was two years ago. Rich, sumptuous and juicy, it is wonderfully intense in all of its dimensions. Black cherry, bittersweet chocolate, new leather, licorice and cloves infuse the powerful, voluptuous finish. The 2015 was set to be bottled in May or June of 2017.

Even more impressive, the 100% Merlot 2015 La Fleur De Bouard Le Plus is a vineyard/parcel selection from clay and limestone soils that was brought up all in new oak. This sensational, full-bodied, viscous 2015 boasts a deep purple color, awesome notes of cassis and black currant fruits, lots of truffle, smoke herbs and meatiness, sweet tannin, and most of its oak covered by a wealth of fruit. It’s a gorgeous wine and I suspect one of the best efforts out there from this appellation. Drink it anytime over the coming two decades.
Incredible depth of fruit with blackberry and blueberry character as well as walnut shell and chocolate. Full body, balanced. Very long finish. Best ever? 100% merlot.
Very dark purple. Opulent concentration on the nose. Veering towards syrupy on the finish too. For those who hanker after the turbo-charged right bank wines of old. (JR)
