Tasting notes
The 2015 La Gurgue has turned out very nicely. Pliant, forward and supple, the 2015 offers quite a bit of near and medium term appeal. Sweet red berry, tobacco, menthol, licorice and crushed flowers add nuance that was not evident when I tasted the wine as a barrel sample.

Margaux is the undeniably the star of the Médoc in 2015 and the 2015 Château La Gurgue is a pretty, elegant beauty that offers lots of red fruits, spice cake, cedary and dried herbs. It’s medium-bodied, elegant and nicely balanced, with good acidity, and should keep for a decade or so.
The 2015 La Gurgue is juicy, forward and fruit driven. Sweet red cherry and plum flavors abound in a wine with good up-front appeal, but less in the way of complexity or pedigree. Overall, this is a pretty, but simple, Margaux.
A muscular and toned 2015 with firm and chewy tannins, polished texture and a flavorful finish. Shows panache. May be even better than the excellent 2009? Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com
