Tasting notes
The 2015 Clos de l’Oratoire has a convincing bouquet with red cherries, black currant, cedar and mint, almost Left Bank in style. I love the brightness on display here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very well judged acidity, cohesive and silky with hints of peppermint surfacing toward the persistent finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

Tasted blind. Very round with virtually zero tannin in evidence. No grip and not enough freshness. Pinched finish. (JR)
The 2015 Clos de l'Oratoire is absolutely fabulous. All of the elements meld together in a rich, sumptuous wine endowed with serious depth and intensity. Time in the glass seems to bring out a good bit of aromatic nuance. The 2015 shut down quickly both times I tasted it, which is probably a good sign for the future. For now, readers will have to be patient. Tasted two times.
