So much pleasure on display here, with enveloping ripe berry fruit, cumin and sage spices, chalky tannins giving focus and lift, soft through the mid palate but everything melts into the wider architecture of the wine, and this is thoroughly easy to fall in love with. 40% new oak for ageing, Eric Boissenot consultant, Philippe Dambrine estate director.

Tasted blind. Intense colour and nose. Thick and over-extracted. Pretty flashy. But it may well be worth waiting for. (JR)

The 2015 Cantemerle has a well-defined bouquet with red cherry, crushed strawberry and just a touch of eucalyptus, though all are nicely packaged and focused. This has moderate vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, fleshy tannins. This bears traces of sur-maturité , it's a bit prune-like and raisiny toward the finish. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting at Farr Vintners.

The 2015 Cantemerle offers an attractive blackberry, raspberry and blueberry nose, forward and more fruit-driven than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine acidity and gentle grip, but comes across a little pushed toward the judiciously spiced finish. Give it another couple of years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.
