Tasting notes
This is full-bodied and chewy, with lots of berry and wood notes. Layered and juicy, with plenty of character. A little too much and slightly dry, but it’s fun and flavorful. Drink now.

Mature black-skinned berry, ripe plum, menthol, leather and tobacco are just some of the aromas that emerge on this full-bodied red. The firm, spicy palate delivers dried black cherry, blackberry, ground pepper, clove, espresso and licorice alongside a backbone of youthfully assertive but refined tannins. Give it time to fully develop.
2017 - 2035 The 2010 Taurasi Riserva Piano di Montevergine is a standout wine that excels on all fronts. The bouquet delivers an enormous level of harmony and intensity with well-articulated tones of spice, dark fruit, pressed blackberry, clove, cola and balsam herb. Nuanced mineral notes stand out very nicely and render a great sense of definition and focus. Equally impressive is the mouthfeel that moves over the palate with determination and elegance. The tannins are finessed, silky but extra firm. Thanks to the balanced acidity and its natural structure, this wine promises long cellar aging potential. It should evolve over the next 20 years.
