The 2012 Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes Vielles Vignes feels a touch more subdued than the other Chambolle 12s at the moment despite coaxing. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannins. There is good depth and balance, plenty of freshness with a rounded, fleshy strawberry and cassis finish that does not outstay its welcome. Give this another 12 months for the aromatics to open.
