The 2013 Vougeot 1er Cru les Petit Vougeot seems a little disjointed at first but affording it ten minutes in the glass, it melds together with broody dark berry fruit with undergrowth scents developing. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berries, quite thick and assertive tannins, but sufficient fruit on the structured finish to keep everything nicely balanced. Dec 2014, www.robertparker.com
