Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Argillières has a high-toned bouquet with dark plum and raspberry fruit, maybe undergoing a longer skin maceration than others, though it is not terribly complex. The palate is medium-bodied with solid tannin, more pushed and showier than fellow Nuits Saint Georges 2013s, though the finish feels a touch reduced at the present moment. Tasted September 2016.

Lots of stuffing and future. Good balance even if embryonic. Grainy tannins. The imprint of the vintage is pretty light and the finish is pretty glorious. (JR)
