Tasting notes
Lightish cherry red. Lifted, juicy cherry fruit. So juicy and full of bright fruit, with finest of tannins. Mouth-watering finish. (JH)

(from vines averaging more than 50 years of age): Medium red. Black cherry and a cool menthol aspect on the nose. Not a thick style but suave and fresh, showing an attractive sugar/acid balance to the black cherry and mineral flavors. The crushed-fruit finish is quite lively but still a bit youthfully stunted.
The 2014 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru les Corbeaux has a pretty bouquet with a pastille-like purity that is detailed and precise. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple red berry fruit, elegant in style, smooth with a caressing finish that is quite Vosne-like in style. This is a well-crafted, succinct Gevrey-Chambertin that will inevitably give a lot of pleasure.
