Score 89/100 · Drink 1995-1998, Robert Parker, Oct 1995

Josmeyer's wine-making style emphasizes restraint and elegance. His offerings are generally dry, steely, austere wines that exhibit fine ripeness. In the 1992 and 1993 vintages Josmeyer had mixed success, but these five recommendations are all very good. The two Gewurztraminer Hengst offerings, both display more finesse than most wines from this varietal, with crisp, honeyed grapefruit, rose petal-scented noses, medium to full body, plenty of depth and texture, and dry finishes. Both should be consumed over the next 2-3 years. Importer: Europvin USA, Watertown, MA; tel. (617) 924-7620
