Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, the 2014 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru les Caillerets was showing a touch of reduction on the nose with hints of brioche and toffee apple developing with time. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, but it does not quite deliver the complexity and mineralité that I was expecting. This is a more short-term Les Caillerets from Bouzereau, perhaps not their best release in this vintage.
