Score 88+/100 · Drink 2021-2027, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2017

Bright medium red. Displays less floral lift than the Clos du Roy, offering scents of red cherry, crushed raspberry and herbs; a bit more closed and medicinal. More herbs and minerals on the palate than the Clos du Roy, with its berry fruit showing a bit less easy sweetness today. But this wine boasts greater saline, calcaire lift in the middle palate and more sneaky length, even if it's tighter and drier today.

Light to mid cherry red. Lightly spiced sweet red fruit. Firm, dry and elegantly structured with such fine tannins. Absolutely delicious. (JH)
