Tasting notes
The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques has a crisp, stony, quite reserved bouquet at the moment. This is taciturn. The palate is more expressive with tart red cherry fruit and a touch of cranberry, nicely structured with a piquant finish that lingers. Pretty and delicate, this is one of Mounir's wines that I might broach earlier than others.

Healthy medium red. Lovely rose petal lift to the aromas of raspberry and red licorice. At once dense and weightless, offering outstanding energy and a high pitch to the very pure red berry and floral flavors. Wonderfully tactile, palate-staining wine with very suave tannins. One feels the grape skins here.
