Tasting Notes
Good bright red. Sexy, very ripe Gevrey-typical aromas of dark cherry, spices and game show an almost candied quality. Boasts lovely silky texture for this village wine, with red fruit and spice flavors leading to a ripely tannic if slightly edgy finish. This should be a relatively easygoing wine with early appeal. The 2014 Gevrey Chambertin Villages has a strict, stony bouquet with wet limestone notes percolating through the veneer of red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. There is not huge weight or concentration here, but it is very well balanced and poised with a taut, minerally finish that is linear and fresh. Very fine.
