Score 94+/100 · Drink 2020-2033, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jun 2016
(13.6% alcohol with 4.84 g/l acidity): Bright yellow with a green tinge. Crushed lime leaf and spearmint on the high-pitched nose. Boasts outstanding energy and lift for a young Batard, with a penetrating citric character, strong acidity and a dusty phenolic element giving the mid-palate outstanding definition. There's nothing heavy about this dusty, extract-rich yet wonderfully elegant Batard, which is from a 1936 planting "in the middle of the cru, low down." Sweeter than the Dent de Chien in the early going but this wine will need patience too.
