Tasting notes
Healthy red-ruby. Sexy aromas of blueberry, violet and game. At once dense and juicy; boasts terrific energy to its inky dark berry flavors but firmly tannic and backward today. I find this less sweet than the Lavaux but with more fruit intensity and finesse owing to the sandier soil.

Here too the more expressive nose is cool and airy with its spicy combination of red cherry, pomegranate, floral and wisps of gentle earth. The palate feel of the middle weight and equally mineral-inflected flavors is finer still thanks to the silky tannins that shape the precise, even chiseled, and energetic finale where a hint of austerity arises. This is really lovely stuff and an entirely classic ESJ. (Drink starting 2024)
