Pale, bright yellow. Vibrant scents of lemon oil and metallic minerality. Then surprisingly creamy and pliant on the palate, but with its soft citrus and peach flavors supported by a firm underpinning of lemon and stone. Really clamps down on the dusty, tactile finish. This wine was previously easier to drink early, noted Javillier, but as the vines are now older it needs more time in bottle to express itself.

Smoky and rich on the nose – quite unusual combination! Solid and sturdy with the promise of much future development. Still very youthful. Long. (JR)

The 2014 Meursault Clos du Cromin has a stoic and almost Chablis-like bouquet, much more mineral-driven than fruit-driven, with cold, wet limestone and granite aromas developing in the glass--Puligny-like, in fact. The palate is well balanced, hints of apricot and mango on the back palate intertwined with a fine bead of acidity. It is a little more conservative than the Tête de Murger at the moment, but there is an engaging purity and refinement in position. This comes recommended.

Bright straw-yellow. Soft citrus fruits, white plum and peach on the slightly exotic nose. A ripe, peachy fruit bomb on the palate, with a suggestion of candied fruits. Perhaps a touch warm but finishes with firm structure and good lift.
