Noticeably richer and more textured, with buttered citrus, honeysuckle, crushed rock, brioche and sautéed peach notes, the 2014 Condrieu les Chailles de L'Enfer is a rich, medium to full-bodied, impeccably-balanced effort that has more than a passing resemblance to its bigger brother, the Coteaux du Vernon.

Vivid yellow. Expansive aromas of nectarine, ripe citrus fruits, mango, fresh fig and pungent flowers and a hint of smoky minerals in the background. Broad, fleshy citrus and pit fruit and honeysuckle flavors show excellent concentration and become more lively with air, picking up a hint of anise as the wine opens up. The floral quality carries emphatically through a strikingly long, mineral-accented finish that blends richness and finesse.
