Healthy medium red. Slightly medicinal cast to the aromas of black cherry and licorice. Tightly wound and a touch rustic, with the medicinal quality carrying through on the palate. Conveys an impression of soil character but the tannins are a bit dry.

Clair's Marsannay Les Grasses Têtes impresses for its stoniness and overall vertical sense of structure. Dark red cherry, plums, spice and tobacco notes are beautifully layered in a wine that brings together notable depth but in the vibrant style of the year.
