15-20% new oak, from a blend of seven plots. Ripe lemon fragrance, verging on pineapple. Deep and a little oaky on the palate. Lots of flavour but not especially elegant (yet). (JH)

The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet, which contains around 30% of premier cru vines, has a straightforward citrus lemon and grapefruit-scented bouquet. The palate is a little shrill on the entry, balanced and simple with a pear-tinged finish. Drink this over the next 4-5 years.
