Tasting notes
The 2014 Domaine de Cambes has a lively, fresh and vibrant bouquet, with joyous red cherry and crushed strawberry aromas that are neatly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied, with supple tannin, nicely judged acidity and quite focused but maybe just missing the complexity on the finish that the 2015 and 2016 bestowed.

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. From the vines at the bottom of the slope but they still get new-barrel treatment and luxury ageing. Not quite as focused and opulent as Roc de Cambes. Floral and slightly brûlée edge. Rich and full. With good structure and energy. Just very slightly astringent on the end. GV ? (JR)
