Tasting notes
Starting with pronounced green apples, citrus and white pepper, the 2015 Riesling leads to some notes of coriander seed and jasmine. Light, dry, lively and fresh on the palate, this Riesling is still a little tight, but possesses some spicy hints and great length.

Light, bright yellow. Ripe citrus fruits, fig, green tea and a hint of honey on the nose. Shows more roundness and heft than usual for this bottling, offering pliant orange and pear flavors and a subtle touch of honeysuckle. Finishes smooth, seamless and persistent, with a building mineral note and repeating orchard fruit character.
All the way back in autumn 2014, the growing season for vintage 2015 started well. We had a lovely season break when the rains started to fall. The following above average winter rains filled the soils and dams. August and then spring were drier and warmer than average, meaning the vines got away to a very healthy start. An average December was followed by below average temperatures in January. During the second week of January good rains fell, which kept the vines healthy and grapes ripening. In fact the ripening conditions, flavours and natural acids were all perfect at Pewsey Vale this year. Very fresh, frank, fruity but bone-dry nose with strong laurel-leaf character. Powdery finish, Very satisfying and already easy to appreciate. Long and savoury. Not a lot of alcohol but masses of extract and poise. (JR)
"Very pure lemons and limes here that are concentrated, stony and fragrant. There's very pure fruit focus here, as this has the right balance of acid and texture. It's smooth, fleshy, dense, really deep and will drink early and live long."
