Batch 1 hogshead, cask no. 2101, dist 19 Feb 86. Nose: sublime fruit intervention on the rampant honey. Moist cherry fruit cake and vanilla also showing well. Taste: and off goes those honey tones again. Fabulous marriage between soothing ulmo and grittier manuka. A little maple syrup says heel. Finish: bitter marmalade as the tannins begin to show form. Balance: a spotless cask which has more grey hairs than you might expect for its age. Superb, though. 43.7%
