The 2014 Fieuzal Blanc has a pretty bouquet with lychee and red apple scents, just a touch of persimmon. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant fatness in the mouth, moderate acidity with a light peachy finish. Not long term as it does not have quite enough tension, but it should drink well over the next four or five years. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

A wine of texture and depth, the 2014 de Fieuzal Blanc is very nicely balanced, with plenty of lime, sage, smoke and sweet spice nuances. A dose of French oak softens the contours and gives the wine its pliant, inviting personality. Tasted two times.
Sage, smoke, slate, herbs and green pear are all supported by veins of salivating minerality in the 2014 Fieuzal Blanc. A hint of oak adds sweetness and texture, softening the contours nicely. This is a terrific showing.
About the producer
Named after the Fieuzal family who owned this estate until 1851, today Ch. de Fieuzal is owned by the Quinns. Since their arrival in 2001, the Irish family has restored the property and built its reputation for quality.
