Good medium red. Musky, reduced nose combines blackberry, woodsmoke, nuts and mustard seed, all lifted by a floral quality. Sweet and sappy, with good flavor intensity and extension. The blackberry flavor was initially quite oaky, but this wine grew sweeter and fresher as it opened in the glass. Strongest today on the persistent finish, where the flavors build nicely. I would never have guessed this carrying 14.3% alcohol
