Tasting notes
Vibrant ruby. Lots of evolution on the nose – beautifully sweet and velvety. Rich and yet with great energy. Real zestiness. (JR)

Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo. Old established and well-regarded winery (1852) located in the surrounding area of Logroño (Rioja Alta). The vineyard is situated in the renowned Finca Ygay (300 ha). 100% destemmed, punching down and pumping over practised, very soft vertical pressing, 25 months’ ageing in American oak barrels. Rioja classic style. I am a great enthusiast of Murrieta and Ygay wines, however this wine showed a very accentuated evolution. Figs, old wood and slightly dusty character. The palate is superior to the nose, well delineated, elegant and with low levels of integrated tannins. Very well made on the palate. Perfectly enjoyable now. (FC)
