Score 91/100 · Drink 2019-2026, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2015

Pale, bright yelow. Pungent aromas of lime, quinine and minerals. Dense, sweet and youthfully taut, offering lovely precision to its flavors of white peach, minerals and spices. Larger-scaled than the Grands Charrons but with no shortage of calcaire energy. Finishes ripe, saline and persistent. From a healthy crop level of 50 hectoliters per hectare. Dancer noted that the salinity shown by this wine is typical of the 2013 vintage.

(still a bit of residual sugar to be converted): A bit fermentative on the nose. Then rich, tactile and a touch exotic in the mouth, in a fruitier style than the more marne-influenced Morgeot Tete du Clos. The highly concentrated lemon and lime flavors lead to a classically dry, slightly warm finish.
