A touched more closed than Le Crock. Clean and pure fruit, with a touch of spice. Clean St Julien fruit in the mouth. Lifted and fruit-driven. Soft, poliched and attractive. Glossy. Joss Fowler, FINE+RARE, April 2015.

The 2014 Moulin Riche is a bit unusual this year in that the Petit Verdot is higher than normal. A spine of firm tannin gives the 2014 much of its personality and drive. Smoke, tobacco, grilled herbs, crŠme de cassis, plums and licorice contribute to an overall impression of darkness and gravitas. Rain on two evenings before scheduled pick dates resulted in a few parcels of Petit Verdot that were discarded from L‚oville Poyferr‚ and used instead for Moulin Riche.
