FINE+RARE, Apr 2015

Sweet and pure restrained nose. Very clean. And all here in the mouth. Savoury sweetness from what is perfectly ripe fruit. Structure behind it. A core of fruit held up by fresh acidity. Some depth, and some length. All correct. No bells or whistles, just a very complete and very good wine.

Fantastic aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants and strawberries follow through to a full body, super-integrated tannins and an extremely long finish. The bright acidity gives the wine a linear edge that focuses in all the fruit. Minerally. Drink in 2021. Feb 2017, www.jamessuckling.com

The 2014 Rauzan-Ségla is just as impeccable from bottle as it was from barrel. Silky, perfumed and nuanced in the glass, the wine exudes finesse. Expressive floral notes, spice and succulent red/purplish stone fruits are all beautifully delineated. In 2014, Rauzan-Ségla is a wine of understated class with the potential to improve for several decades. Tasted two times. Feb 2017, www.vinous.com, drink: 2020-2044

The 2014 Rauzan-Segla has a very pure, mineral-driven bouquet that could almost be from the Cote de Nuits! This is as refined as you will discover in Margaux. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, caressing and smooth in texture with well-judged acidity and fanning out with crushed strawberry, Morello and a touch of orange rind on the finish. It is not patch on the 2015 for sure, but it is a worthy forerunner. Mar 2017, www.robertparker.com
