Tasting Notes
Relatively dark and staining the glass. Fresh, chunky fruit on the nose. Clean and pure. This follows in the mouth with bouncy black pure fruit. Clean and concentrated with a touch of spice. Probably the best ever from here. Long and spicy. Joss Fowler, FINE+RARE, April 2015.

The 2014 Tronquoy-Lalande is gorgeous. Black cherry, plum, smoke, mocha, leather, menthol, cloves and iron meld together in a juicy, exuberant wine with considerable near and medium-term appeal. The bold, exuberant side of 2014 comes through in spades, especially on the creamy, textured finish. The blend is 56% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, with the high percentage of Merlot very much front and center. Overall, the 2014 is an exceptionally polished wine that punches above its weight.
About the producer

This 30-hectare estate in Saint-Estèphe is only classified as a Cru Bourgeois yet its terroir has long been prized. Now part of the same stable as the illustrious Ch. Montrose, there has been significant investment here, with rising quality and wines that now offer excellent value.
