Tasting notes
Clean, cool and pure on the nose. And not a little closed. A touch of creamy fruit. And follows in the mouth with cool, pure, concentrated fruit. Blackcurrants. All here and very impressive.

Round, smooth, fully evolved. Just a tad dull. (JR)
The 2014 La Dame de Montrose is more precocious than Lafon-Rochet on the nose, with hints of dried cherries and black olive compote infusing the black fruit, touches of humidor and red brick. The palate is medium-bodied with dusky black fruit, fine tannins and a little austerity towards the finish, though at least it does exude Saint-Estèphe DNA. Give it a year in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.
Tasted blind. Deep ruby and youthful in colour. Refined, stony mineral aroma with lots of elegant black fruit. Lovely wine with firm tannic structure and excellent balance.
About the producer

Ch. Montrose is one of two Second Growths from Saint-Estèphe and one of the most consistent producers in Bordeaux. The wines from this property are both elegant and powerful, and some of the Médoc's most age-worthy .
