Score 90/100 · Drink 2023-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Villages wafts from the glass with pretty aromas of Griotte cherry, raspberry and rose petal. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with a crystalline core of fruit, juicy acids and serious substance, its chassis of fine-grained but firm tannins asserting itself on the finish. From barrel, one might have been deceived into thinking this would develop into a youthfully immediate Chambolle Villages: from bottle, it's clearly built for the longer haul.

Full red-ruby. A ripe bowl of black cherries, blueberries and spices on the nose. Boasts a penetrating yet restrained sweetness and a superb balance of rich texture and fresh acidity. Superb texture for village wine. The tannins are serious but plush and nicely enrobed by the wine's strong material. Really spreads out horizontally to saturate the palate and build on the finish. I found this wine a tad extreme a year ago but not today.

Really very heady nose – much more concentrated than anyone else’s Chambolle village wine. Very serious! Big and savoury. Fine tannins on the end. Long. (JR)

Healthy dark red. Very ripe blueberry dominates the nose. Densely packed and powerful, with thick dark berry and dark chocolate flavors energized by pungent minerality. Finishes with chewy tannins. Impressive but perhaps a bit extreme.
