Tasting notes
From two hectares in Terlo and one in Ravera. There is some weight here on the nose and a delicate, beguiling perfume. This is clean and polished and very good again. There is a great deal of fruit here – the wine has breadth – and it is rich and inviting. This is easy and forward, with lovely soft tannins and a delightful richesse. Very good indeed.

The 2011 Barolo shows pretty fruit intensity that is both clean and well proportioned. The wine reveals a dark hue and classic lines and offers notes of dark spice and crushed mineral. This is a very enjoyable Barolo expressed in a consistent and classic fashion.
Almost yellowy rust colour. Attractive compost nose. Confident, dramatic fruity start. Dry finish. Good expression for relatively early drinking. GV (JR)
Orange peel, cinnamon, tobacco, licorice and dried cherries lift from the glass in Grimaldi's 2011 Barolo. Exotic, nuanced and wonderfully expressive today, the 2011 is an excellent choice for drinking over the near term, as the flavors already show nice signs of development. The 2011 is strong for an entry-level Barolo. The 2011 was aged in both cask and smaller French oak barrels.
