Tasting notes
Score 89/100 · Drink 2004-2008, Daniel Thomases, Wine Advocate, Oct 2003

The 2001 Barbera d’Alba Superiore (which used to be known as Bricco delle Viole, and the 1990 was a beauty), does not have quite the fullness of the 2000, a year in which the surmaturite of the grapes was more evident. Its plum and chocolate nose, its length, definition and delineation, and its fresh mineral notes, however, are those of a characterful, well made wine. Anticipated maturity:2004-2008. Various American importers including The Country Vintner, Oilville, VA; tel. (800) 365-9463
