Tasting notes
The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St Jacques contains almost 80% whole-bunch fruit. The nose is very expressive and well defined with vibrant, slightly earthy black fruit that feels more reserved than the other Premier Cru 2013s. Meanwhile, the palate is harmonious, supple in the mouth, with a subtle marine influence throughout the dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit. It feels a little lighter, but has more finesse. Excellent.
