Inky purple. Hypnotic, highly perfumed aromas of blueberry and boysenberry, cherry-cola, sandalwood and dried violet, with a smoky overtone. Deep, candied black and blue fruit flavors are impressively concentrated, with intense floral and spice notes coming up in the mid-palate. Extremely rich shiraz with a velvety texture and a wallop of sweet berry flavor on the long, spicy finish. This outsized, superripe yet somehow energetic wine won't convert any Old World palates but fans of the type will go nuts.
