I tasted this alongside Faiveley’s Mazis (which was asking a lot of this wine) and the colour was not that different! Very solid and almost gamey. Already almost approachable but it has form for lasting very well. Lots going on here. (JR)

Matured in 10% new wood, the 2013 Bourgogne Rouge has a clean and relatively generous bouquet with satisfying raspberry and crushed strawberry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins. The acidity is well judged and there is a confit-like finish. Overall, it represents a very commendable Bourgogne Rouge and will doubtless be good value. Dec 2014, www.robertparker.com
