Tasting notes
Score 85/100 · Robert Parker, Jan 2003

The 1997 Belair is atypically soft, forward, and appealing. A dark ruby color is followed by aromas of sweet, mineral-infused, black cherry fruit, medium body, and light tannin in the round, attractive finish. This wine should keep for 6-7 years. Last tasted, 3/00.

Score 86-87/100 · Drink 2000-2010, Robert Parker, Apr 1998

Winemaker Pascal Delbeck appears to have produced an atypically soft, forward, appealing 1997 that will not take long to come around. A dark ruby color is followed by aromas of sweet, mineral-infused, black cherry fruit, medium body, and light tannin in the round, attractive finish. This wine requires 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for 10-12 years.
