(the 2013s were mostly bottled in February): Pale yellow with a slightly dusty surface. Aromas and flavors of pear and pineapple show an exotic suggestion of mirabelle . A sweet, fruity village wine with a bit of finishing warmth.

The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet Village, which comes from three different climats (10% matured in 600-liter barrels), has an attractive nose in the making with fresh pear and grapefruit scents unfurling in the glass. The palate is nicely balanced with a fine acidic thread leading to a poised, if uncomplicated but fresh finish.

Lively gold. Fresh and well etched. Lively and pure. Minerally and chalky. Very appetising. Neat. (JR)

(this was 12.2% potential alcohol chaptalized to 12.6%, according to Etienne de Montille): Pale yellow. Very reticent nose hints at yellow fruits. Offers subtle sweetness and a supple texture, as well as good freshness to its stone fruit and floral flavors; I might have identified this blind as coming from Puligny. Finishes with lovely fruit-driven persistence. This set of wines was lightly sulfured two weeks before my visit but had not yet been racked.
