Much darker than most. Complex aromas of undergrowth, tea and floral notes too. More fluid than some at this stage. Bold, compact, deep and still vibrant. Tannins close in on the end. (JH)

Barolo. Mid ruby with broads orange-tinged rim. Ripe (stewed?) and a little leathery on the nose but it sure has appeal. Lots of fruit yet not overtly sweet and with really chewy tannins. Bold, ripe style. Convincing. (WS)

Aromas of dried berries including dried strawberries, dried meat and mushroom. Full body, soft, velvety-textured tannins and a savory, rich finish. Not a heavy wine but full of character. Enchanting. Better in 2017. Aug 2014, JamesSuckling.com
