The 2012 Chardonnay gives aromas of white peaches, yuzu and grapefruit peel with hints of cedar and buttered popcorn. Medium-bodied with a lively acid backbone cutting through the concentrated fruit and oak layers, it finishes long and yet just a little clumsy.

Mendoza clone. Ambient yeast and no settling enzymes. All barrel fermented in French oak (20% new). Lees stirring and 70% MLF. Bottled June 2013. RS 2.25 g/l. Light nose, tastes bone dry but not that intense. Crisp and racy but just not especially interesting. Bit of a fast fade. (JR)
