The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes from Henri Germain has quite a potent menthol-tinged bouquet, more exotic than its peers. The palate is rounded on the entry, a little phenolic for my liking, with a finish that does not really articulate the vineyard. A decent Chardonnay rather than a good Burgundy. I prefer some of the Domaine's other 2012s compared to this.

Apple, apricot, floral and quite rich. Has the fatness and weight of good Meursault. Perhaps something slightly oxidative as well, with its orange peel scent. (RH)
