Score 93/100 · Drink 2018-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru from Blain-Gagnard has a terse, laconic nose that is nevertheless well defined with citrus peel and pleasant fumé scents. The palate is surprisingly spicy on the entry, very saline in the mouth with a pleasant build in the mouth towards a spicy, almost fiery finish. It needs a few years to calm down, but otherwise this has good potential.
