Tasting notes
Vivid ruby. Aromas of fresh black and blue fruits, violet, woodsmoke and candied licorice carry a peppery topnote and a hint of dark chocolate. Concentrated, focused and appealingly sweet; juicy acidity gives lift to the smoky dark berry and floral pastille flavors. Closes juicy and smooth, the gentle tannins providing shape and grip.

The single vineyard 2013 Crozes Hermitage Lieu Dit Les Pichères comes from the eastern portion of the appellation and more sedimentary soils. It was completely destemmed, and aged in a combination of older oak and concrete tanks. Pepper, leather, olive and garrigue-like characteristics all emerge from this medium-bodied, masculine, firm Syrah that shines for it purity of fruit and classic, focused, northern Rhone character. It’s another high quality wine to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years.
Vivid ruby. Deeply pitched aromas of cherry compote, dark chocolate, licorice and cracked pepper, with a smoky overtone. Broad and chewy on the palate, displaying good intensity to its singed plum, dark berry and bitter chocolate flavors. Finishes on a spicy note, with building tannins and a hint of zesty minerality.
