Score 100/100 · Drink 1967-2027, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, May 2023

The 1947 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru continues to drink beautifully, though since this was our last bottle, I don't know if or when I will ever encounter it again. Wafting from the glass with aromas of dried griotte cherries, Indian spices, musk and vine smoke, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and sensual, with an ample core of sweet, sun-kissed fruit, lively acids and an unerring sense of harmony. This is one of the great vintages produced by Georges Roumier in this estate's heyday.

This has a fascinating nose of watermelon, citrus fruit and candied fruits, not to mention rock candy and flowers. Full to medium body with bright acidity, it’s dense and lively with a beautiful, bright and racy finish.
