Score 90-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2006
Ruby-red. Wild aromas of black cherry, leather and game. Sweet and thick but lively, with sound acidity leavening the wine's texture. Plenty of incipient complexity here, even if the wine is less showy today in the middle palate than the Chambolle. Serious, ripe tannins frame and carry the finish. The tannins in this wine have become suaver in recent vintages.
