Score 87-89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2014

Bright pale yellow. Rich, spicy aromas of peach, orange juice, butter and hazelnut; very Meursault! Round and spicy on entry, then rather powerful in the middle palate for village wine, showing a penetrating quality to the flavors of peach, orange and spices. Finishes uncompromisingly dry and tight, with a bit of alcoholic warmth. (Don't hesitate to buy Jobard's Bourgogne Blanc, which is made mostly from well-placed vines in Meursault; the 2012 version offers very ripe aromas and flavors of yellow peach, pear, lemon and hazelnut but finishes firm, juicy and classically dry.)

Smoky, flinty, aromatic and characterful. Lots of savoury complexity, and a dry, layered fruit. Soft, plump mouthfeel. (RH)
