Score 87/100 · Drink 2016-2023, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016
The 2012 Haut Faugeres felt a little overdone on the nose with smudged sloes and strawberry fruit. Picked a little too late perhaps? The palate is sweet on the entry with succulent ripe tannin. It feels "furry" in texture, although the oak is nicely integrated and the finish is seductive and rounded -- black cherries, leather and a hint of brown spice. It finishes better than it begins, so enjoy this now and over the next 5-8 years. Tasted September 2016.
