Tasting notes
The elegantly lemon-fresh and minerally flavored 2012 Pinot Gris Calcaire is entirely picked in the Heimbourg vineyard, where it grew in a higher altitude on quite shallow limestone soils that give it a Riesling-like structure. Although the medium-bodied, elegant and balanced wine (which was picked quite early and without any botrytis) has 10.6 grams of residual sugar, it tastes almost dry due to the fresh and zesty finish. Very stimulating and almost ready to drink.
